Qui trop embrase mal éteint is the story of a young Haitian man who enlists in the dictatorial government militia of Haiti to avenge the death of his father who was brutally assassinated. Ironically however, he himself soon becomes a violent tonton macoute and terrorizes the population and the only thing that may bring him back to his original mission is the love of the beautiful Marline Poéton, an indirect victim of his gratuitous cruelty.
