The Haitian Diaspora Experience (Esperyans Dyaspora Ayisyen / EDA) is launching a series of conferences at the diaspora level. To achieve our goal, we are inviting Haitians in diaspora to come and share, a formal way, their experience and knowledge of their professional careers. It is an important experience that will orient the people of Haiti, especially youths who are thirsty of orientation and who will be able to help at an international level. 

This is an exciting initiative that tilts toward poverty and underdevelopment influencing the population. This will help in order to find new reflections that will allow Haitians (in Haiti) to target Haiti’s development, and how they can reach proper strategies to take action in the interest of the nation and population. To be more direct, the strategy that will enable the country to unleash on a practical education that will benefit everyone.

Focusing on Haitians in diaspora, they are not (physically) in Haiti. One of the main means we use for each conference we are organizing is zoom as tool. Also, we do not rule out the possibility of a Haitian from the diaspora who is living in Haiti, and after our exchanges we organize an activity where that person will present a conference while in the native country. 

This will always remain in the deceptive framework as it is not a situation that appears often. The target languages we are using for these conferences are Haitian Creole (Kreyol)and English. If someone is presenting in Kreyol, there will be an English interpreter, and vice versa. In case of having a French speaker (who is not Haitian) who is presenting, there will be no translation.

Why bilingual? There are two reasons:

1. The globalization phenomenon is the first reason why we use this strategy, a way that each conference would have the chance to reach out as many people as possible (in the Great Haitian Diaspora [the United States and Canada], and at the global level to facilitate research, for sensitization work and collecting of resources to help Haiti). 
    
2. Given that English appears to be the second language present everywhere in the world, we cannot deny its connection to all research activities. So, we find it logical to be the result of reflection and insights we are collecing from these conferences taking the ride with English to make known this great intellectual work we envision. 

Fortunately, by weighting technology where we have access to social networks, we imagine these conferences will serve as orientation to professionals who are in Haiti (particularly those in education). They will reach out everyone connected to social networks, and who yearn to learn every day from sharing minds and exchange knowledge. 

Along the same line of ideas, the  EDA is not limited to the Haitian Diaspora to stir up ideas with a diverse public. The space is large since we wish, with great happiness, to find or have foreign specialists who would like to devote a bit of their free time to come and share their experience with us.

We target specialists such as: linguists (working on Creole and French studies, those who are in a creolophone (creole speaking) or francophone milieu where a creole language is being used, (non-Haitian) creolists  working in a creolophone mileux as well as other milieu (where they are using a creole language), foreign language teachers… We see specialists such as anthopologists, lawyers, businessmen, writers, nurses, engineers, inventors, community leaders, physicians, teachers, scientists, technicians… There are many things they can share with us, be it at the experience level or at the professional /career level.
