When I take a look at a selfie
I see a shell but not the self
Curvaceous
Beautifully shaped
Yet it might just be
My eyes are beholder of beauty
Covered in shining armor
Like an impenetrable wall
Protecting true nature
Thus getting beyond the selfie
I see image of inner strengths
I perceive the self, saying
I am powerful
I birth witness to life
I am beloved
I bring joy and
The newborn of early dawn
