Kisa li ye?

An jeneral, yo di ke moun nwa pa renmen li. Nou pral fè diferans lan pandan ke nou pral akonpaye timoun ak jèn nou yo pou yo li pi plis toujou chak jou pou yo ka vin pi pwodiktif nan lavi.

Lòm vin tounen yon lou pou lòm (kòm pwovèb laten an di, homo homini lupus). Fò ou pran anpil prekosyon se vre. Men sa mande tou pou aji.

Menm si nou ta rive pase 20 ane oubyen plis tan deyò men lè jou a rive pou n retounen lakay, pa gen anyen ki ka rete nou ni anpeche nou fè sa. Se pou nou pran konsyans depi jodiya, bay patisipasyon pa ou (pa egzanp, lajan ou kapab kontribye nan yon kòz ki nòb o pwofi devlopman Ayiti) dekwa lè ou pran bon jan desizyon pou retounen lakay pou ka vini san okenn difikilte.

Ou ka ofri tèt ou kòm volontè k ap ede òganizasyon an jwenn bon jan mwayen ekonomik pou l ret kanpe e egzekite pwojè l yo. Donk pa pèdi tan, mande fòmilè pa ou nan adrès anba a, e n ap trè kontan sèvi ou. Mèsi davans pou kolaborasyon ou pral pote nan òganizasyon BATJDA!

Space for meeting

Jean Heber Bellefleur
(May 7, 2008)

What is it? – We can say that it’s a Wonn Refleksyon (round of reflection) where we gather to debate issues, to develop them and to speak about all subjects. We may talk about something that was not well done, and share the good idea of how we can improve it.

It’s also talking about how we can do things better in society. We are not doing politics, but all that is related to people’s and community’s growth where people are living; these subjects are important to debate them.

The greatest definition we can give it is: Come and sit down with us! Listen!  Be responsible!

It’s a space where children as well as teenagers of the organization can gather to talk about what they observe in their surroundings, what they feel, what they like, what they don’t like and bring an element of response on how they can do what’s good in their life and help others as well to do what’s good.

We don’t have a specific time nor day when to gather, but it can be done once a month; further down we can choose a day and a date in the month to do that. We can invite some leaders or some specialists in a particular domain to exchange ideas, and take notes on all that is part of the debate, analyzing them through our laboratory in order to able to publish a newsletter in Creole entitled Wonn Refleksyon. I believe it’s a good idea, isn’t it? This will encourage all Haitians both in Haiti and in Diaspora to take an active part in its development. This newsletter will be a monthly one. It’s a way to  motivate all Haitians to read a lot. In general, it’s being said that Black people don’t like to read. We are going to make the difference while we are going to accompany the children and the teenagers (of our organization) to read more every day in order to become more productive in life.

Even if you are abroad, you can participate in Wonn Refleksyon. Don’t hesitate to do that; do it your own way; it’s your own contribution to help pulling out your country in the mud hole it has fallen.

Sometimes you’d like to give your participation, you don’t know who you should address. Why? Because you are afraid. Today, everyone is afraid of people. Man has become a wolf for man (as the Latin saying puts it, homo homini lupus). It’s true and you must be very careful. But this also requires you to act. Don’t stay with your arms crossed to let others do things for you or to think for you. When you do that, you become a sycophant.

We ask you not to be afraid; on the contrary, the invitation is launched to the entire Diaspora to get on the boat. That’s where you can defend your position in the country, and abroad. When, today, they want to put all Haitians in Diaspora aside, they must not forget that those Haitians are the economic base for Haiti; they are the country’s two wings. If those in Diaspora don’t send money to Haiti, many people will die. We could also say: if the provinces don’t bring food to the capital, well people in Port-au-Prince won’t be able to eat since gardens don’t grow there.

Friends, let’s take advantage of this great opportunity offered to you to make you feel that you are alive (in the sense of thinking of helping Haiti). Haiti is your country; Haiti is our country; that’s where our umbilical cord was buried. Even if you’ve been living for 20 or more years abroad, but when it’s time to return home nothing will impede you from doing it. We must be conscious since today, give our participation (for example, our financial contribution to a noble cause for the benefit of Haiti’s development) so that when you really decide to return home there will be no difficulty.

You can offer yourself as volunteer who is helping the organization find great economic means to remain functioning, and to work on its projects. So, don’t waste time, ask for your own application by writing to the address below, and we’ll be very happy to serve you. Thank you in advance for the collaboration you’ll bring to the  BATJDA organization!
