PRESS RELEASE

A Christmas Message with a warning.

The Medical Professionals Association of Trinidad and Tobago (MPATT) extend SEASONS GREETINGS in this season of goodwill to the public of Trinidad and Tobago.

In this season of giving, we tend to forget the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

During this period, we over-indulge in food and drink. Patients with diabetes (sugar); hypertension (high blood pressure); cardiac (heart) and other diseases are especially reminded that they must adhere to their restricted diets.

Alcoholic consumption also increases. "Dizzy and delightful" is the desired aim. "Drunk and disorderly" will result in missing out the festive season. "Dead drunk" may result in missing out the rest of life.

Driving habits which are presently undisciplined, deteriorates during this period. Alcohol consumption may be an added factor. Therefore, exercise due caution on the road. Designate a driver for alcohol and gasolene do NOT mix.

Parents are reminded that fireworks and other explosive devices are dangerous and should be avoided. If used, however, it must be under strict parental supervision with maximum adherence to safety precautions.

MPATT wishes one and all, a MERRY CHRISTMAS.
